Is having a Self-Sovereign-Identity system necessary?
Basically not. In a world where NWO registered people hunt outsiders, it might be better not to have a registration. Through facial recognition software and other identification software in combination with current identification systems, it will be virtually impossible to walk around unidentified.
But if there are other good reasons to have an identification system that is completely under your control, then a Self-Sovereign-Identity system may be necessary.
However, a Self-Sovereign-Identity system seems necessary for an alternative money system. So a Self-Sovereign-Identity system is ultimately necessary.
